The lighting of the future
Each clock contains small self luminous lighting elements, produced by the world’s leading physical Swiss Institute for lighting components Mb-Microtec. These lighting elements (Borosit glass capsules) are firmly embedded in the hands, the hour indexes on the dial and watch divers in addition to the rotation ring. To detect the time at any time, even at dark night to guarantee on all models is the highlight of the position 12 with orange and green color at the other positions elaborated.
The secret lies in the use of tritium. The tritium watches need no external light source to the color on the face of charge, as required conventional fluorescent color, nor they need a push of a button in order to illuminate the dial, such as watches with Elektroluminiszenz needed.
Tritium Gaslichtquellen (TGLQ) are working on the same principle as fluorescent compounds that act directly on the dial-be. a zinc-based fluorescent tritium is suggested.
The essential difference is that this process in a glass tube held inside the lamp with the coating and is filled with tritium.
TGLQ glow around a hundred times brighter than normal fluorescent compounds, and they also have the advantage that the glass tube can be safely handled, because no radioactivity penetrates to the outside. The under high pressure hermetically sealed, tiny fluorescent cells are resistant to water, oil and most corrosive materials. Even extreme temperatures (-170 degrees Celsius to +400 degrees Celsius) and temperature shocks for the TGLQ lighting system is no problem.
The tubes can be found on dials and hands are, since they only have a diameter of 0.5 millimeters have.
For the life of TGLQ: after six years, the glass tubes about 50 percent of its brightness, after 12 years, yet 25 percent to offer – the human eye perceives this as a way, still half as bright as the full performance.
These advantages have TGLQ watches with an absolute must in the world of emergency, safety and security, but also for adventure – and sports enthusiasts made. The U.S. Army has the superiority of the new lights early. Their use in the specification MIL-W-46374F prescribed. Meanwhile, over 300,000 H3 watches in the U.S. armed forces in action.
